THE CLOUD APPRECIATION SOCIETY The Cloud Appreciation Society Some people have a simple regard for clouds, ie 'If they're grey, it means rain.'  Other people are like our mum. She loves clouds and will look at them for ages...and talk about them for ages too! To her ALL clouds are fantastic. She was pretty happy then (understatement) when she heard that thousands of other people are as mad about clouds as she is. One of them is Gavin Pretor-Pinney who lives in London and loves clouds so much that he founded The Cloud Appreciation Society. He's also written a book called 'The Cloudspotter's Guide' (guess what our Mum got for Christmas!). It's full of interesting facts about clouds; their place in history and art, the science of clouds and our favourite, clouds that look like other things.
