Olivarius Apart' Hotel Paris
Olivarius Apart’ Hotel

Away from the hustle and bustle of central Paris lies the 'Olivarius'. Situated in Cergy-Pontoise, it’s a straightforward 30 mins train ride from the city and is just a short walk to the nearest train line. The Olivarius was designed, built and is owned solely by Olivier LeClercq who is part of the LeClercq family, known for their innovative retail and distribution businesses.

The story is that having stayed in many hotels, Olivier realised the needs of travellers, and has addressed them oh so very well, especially the free high speed internet, coin operated laundry, a lovely breakfast included and, wait for it....free international telephone calls!

This is just one of the many reasons that made the ‘Olivarius Apart’ Hotels Cergy’ take us by storm. Its modern design has a huge atrium at the centre (1000m2 to be exact), decorated with olive trees, Italian furniture and a huge 30-metre high painting of poppies by artist J.P. Ghiglione. On the floor, it even spells out its name in tiles!

There are comfortable lounge areas to relax in, as well a bar and many other facilities. But most importantly are it’s beautifully decorated guest rooms - you should see the mirrors!
The Olivarius is home to 130 of these rooms, each has their own name (which I thought was pretty cute) and are spread on four different levels. Each apartment includes a kitchen, 4-star bedding, private bathroom and big flat screen tvs. Woo hoo!

Like a hotel, it includes breakfast (which definitely does not go unappreciated), 24-hour front desk (with multi-lingual staff), airport shuttles, bar, pool table, conference rooms, laundry, free parking and even it’s own little food and provisions shop. And if you love it that much, long-term guests can reserve an apartment for several months!

Prices will make even those on a modest budget happy. Rooms start from Euro 65! (around AU $90 or GBP
£50).

If it’s a longer trip to Paris you’re after, then I would definitely recommend a stay at the Olivarius; it offers the independance of an apartment, but all the great things about a hotel!
FACTS:
Under 10 mins walk - Train to Olivarius
RER Train to Paris - around 30 mins (cheap!)
Big shopping centre next to train station - we bought fresh baguettes there each day!
Cergy is a university and trade town - not many speak English

There are THREE Cergy train stations - you want
'Cergy Prefecture'.

Cergy is the other side of Paris to Euro Disney.
